On Thursday, a number of visitors were at my rehearsal, among them Kadie Del Sordo, Courtney Coughlin, and Maida Withers. I am SO very thankful for their feedback and constructive criticisms!! Courtney filmed me speaking to my cast, and without further ado, here is said video:

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed looking at your blog and also attending your rehearsal. Some observations:
(1) Billy doing same movement as the group. How can he be developed with distinctive characteristics/traits...social/antisocial, etc?
(2) People doing movements in place. Perhaps they can open to some changes in dynamics, especially, and maybe level/direction nuances.
(3) Help Billy define specific movements as he is coming down from US..not a repetitive movement but various responses to his circumstances.
(4) Maybe the phrase everyone repeats (leaping on) can change one of the side to side swings to be a different movement (maybe for each person) before continuing. Does this go on too long?
(5) Perhaps Develop some specific interactions of person/billy.
(6) Where does the hanging on lead? It is a good idea. Give it form and structure now you know it is what works.
(7) Music. Some excellent choices. Decide soon so you can make sense of this in continuity and where it will end. Where does the piece end.
